Marie Anderson is an independent consultant, and founder of customer insight consultancy Maran Consulting.

“I work with some of UK and Sweden’s largest companies, helping them to uncover and interpret insights from customer research and data, to build a holistic picture of customer needs and behaviours.

My mission is to make insights, research and data simple and practical to use for all businesses, large and small. I help ensure that insight drives real-world strategic and commercial action across the businesses I work with.”

Marie’s career in customer insight, market research and customer data spans almost 20 years. Before starting Maran, she worked at a number of major retail & leisure brands, including Sainsbury’s – where she headed up the Trading & Channels Insight teams – as well as Tesco/dunnhumby, The Walt Disney Company, Virgin Megastores and Kingfisher/Woolworths Group.

Marie is a Certified Member of the Market Research Society, holds the MRS Diploma in Social & Market Research Practice and is a member of the Market Research Standards Board Working Party. She speaks four languages and holds both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Oxford.
